Growing Sweet Success: Oakford Farm Expands Into Strawberry Production
Date Published

Looking forward to tasty strawberries this summer!
Diversification in farming has become essential, and at Oakford Farm we’re excited to announce the expansion of our soft‑fruit enterprise — including new strawberry production for the upcoming summer season. We have now co‑located two soft‑fruit businesses across both existing and newly constructed polytunnels, creating a modern, efficient growing environment.
Our head grower, Helen Earle, brings over 12 years of horticultural experience managing crops both under cover and in-field. Her expertise is already shaping our strawberry and soft‑fruit operations, and we’re looking forward to producing delicious, high‑quality fruit as the warmer months arrive.

As part of an Innovate UK–funded ADOPT Programme, Oakford Farm will be working with leading technology partners to monitor pollination within our polytunnel systems. Using advanced sensors, we’ll be able to generate “heat maps” of pollinator activity — helping us better understand and support natural and managed pollination processes. This aligns perfectly with our ethos of encouraging biodiversity and sustainable farming practices.
We’re excited to grow this area of the business and share our progress. Stay tuned for updates, behind‑the‑scenes insights, and plenty of strawberry photos as the season unfolds.
